you know what, i was so happy about steve finally getting to live his life and getting everything he wanted until someone pointed out that that was just so unrealistically out of character for him. if steve had a chance to go back in time and redo everything that he did, he would have saved bucky and changed some more things. i know bruce warned him about the effects of changing the past, but would the steve we know do that? the steve we know wouldn’t back down from a fight, was loyal to a fault, and was definitely stubborn as hell—he would not have stood by and watched as bucky fell from the train again. and even though i do think that steve deserved that happy ending, i still don’t think that this was on brand for the steve we know. especially since steve was heartbroken about and hated what was done to bucky—he would not have just stood by while his best friend got captured and tortured by the organization that has tormented steve for decades.
